Low Carbs Keto Kadhai Paneer Recipe

I am a die hard paneer lover. Since I am a vegetarian too, paneer is a kind of big deal for me like any other vegetarians. Being on a weight loss spree, it is very difficult to control my taste buds so I started looking for healthy Keto friendly Indian vegetarian recipes when I came across this one. 

The one I am inspired from is not Keto friendly but I thought about making few changes in ingredients and recipe, keeping the original taste while making it healthy and low carb for me. If you are looking for Keto friendly Indian recipes, Kadhai paneer will not disappoint you. It was mind blowing, forcing me to lick my bowl to get every taste of this awesome Low carbs Keto Kadhai Paneer. And guess what, I do not have to think about any extra calories!

Let's get started!


Serves 4 people

Ingredients

200 gms of Paneer Cubes

For Gravy 

2 chopped Large red tomato
2 chopped red onion

5 tablespoon unsalted butter/ ghee
1 teaspoon fresh ginger paste
1 teaspoon fresh garlic paste
 2 green chilies paste (You can use less if you don't like spicy food)
2 cups diced Capsicum
1 cup baby onion cubed
1 teaspoon turmeric
Handful of fresh chopped coriander

For Kadhai Masala

1 teaspoon Fennel seeds
1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
2 Tbsp of coriander seeds (can substitute 2 tablespoon of coriander powder)
8-10 cloves
8-10 black pepper seeds or peppercorns
2-3 small cinnamon sticks 
2-3 cardamoms
 
Salt to taste

Lets prepare Kadhai Masala first

1. Put all the whole spices in a wok or kadhai and dry roast them until you start getting the significant fragrance. 
2. If using coriander powder instead of seeds, put it at last and dry roast for not more than 5-10 sec.
3. Let it cool for a bit before grinding the spices into fine powder. Keep it aside.


Kadhai Paneer gravy Part 1

1. Take 3 tablespoon butter in a wok or kadhai, and saute the 2 chopped onions until they are translucent.
2. Add 2 chopped tomatoes to the wok. Saute them on medium heat until they are done. It should be of mushy consistency, mixed well with onions.
3. Let it cool down.
4. Grind it to a fine paste. Add a little water if the consistency is too dry. You want it to be puree like consistency.


Kadhai Paneer gravy Part 2


1. Take 2 tablespoon of butter in the wok. 
2. Add ginger paste, garlic paste and green chilies in paste form. Saute them well.
3. Add cubed baby onions. Saute them until they are translucent.
4. Add diced capsicum and saute it well.
5.  Add the tomato onion puree which we made in first part. Let it cook for about 5 minutes on low to medium heat. 
6. Add 1 teaspoon turmeric, entire batch of kadhai masala and salt according to taste.
7. You can add a little more water if the gravy becomes dry.
8. Add 200gms of Paneer and mix well. 
9. Cook for about 5 minutes while stirring it gently. 
10. Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve hot.


You can eat it with parathas, roti, rice or just like that if you are on Keto diet. It is lip smacking good and filling all at the same time. Being Keto friendly, you will not have to worry about the calories or carbs at all with this keto friendly kadhai paneer recipe!
