The Face Shop Smart Peeling White Jewel | Review

Any skincare regime is rather incomplete without a good exfoliation. It helps in removing all the dead skin from the surface, revealing a fresh layer of skin. It also helps in allowing the skin to breathe and absorb the products in a better way. You can also get rid of tanning as well as dullness from your skin through proper exfoliation. But doing it the right way through the right products is very crucial.

Since I have started exploring Korean beauty and skincare, I found out that physical exfoliators that contain abrasive material in them such as walnut shells and other such products can cause micro-scratches all over your skin. And since your facial skin is very soft as compared to the body, it can be damaged severely in the long run. So, you need something that is gentle on your skin as well as harsh on the dead skin such as chemical exfoliators or peeling jellies.

I was using Innisfree Wine Peeling jelly until now and since I can't find it again online, I got this Smart Peeling White Jewel jelly by The Face Shop. It works on similar principals but it also has white pearl powder that is said to give a nice glow to the skin. So, let's go ahead with the review.

Ingredients

Water/Eau, Cellulose, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Alcohol Denat., Betaine, Panthenol, Carbomer, Potassium Hydroxide, Amethyst Powder, Pearl Powder, Tourmaline, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Titanium Dioxide, Tin Oxide (Ci 77861), Parfum/Fragrance

How to Use

Apply on freshly cleansed, dry skin and massage for 1-2 minutes, avoiding the eye and lip contour areas. Rinse with water, use once or twice a week.

Packaging & Texture

It comes in a soft tube with a flip to open cap. The small opening allows you to take a small quantity. Since the tube is very soft, it is not at all travel-friendly. Do not dare, I say, Do not dare to keep it in your handbag or luggage otherwise you will end up with messy interiors. If you want to take it on travel, take a small quantity and fill another container or a tub with it.

The texture is like powdered pearls are mixed in runny jelly. It is quite runny so you will have to be a bit careful while taking it out. You do not need to put pressure on the tube, the product will come out on its own. However, this flowy consistency helps in applying it all over the skin properly.

My Take

I really like this jelly peeling scrub. It is gentle on the skin and helps in removing all the dead skin. You will need a very small quantity so little goes a long way. I prefer to keep my face damp, not wet, but damp while applying it so that it does not irritate my skin and product spreads out evenly. It leaves my skin glowy and fresh looking without any dryness which is another plus point. I don't personally like The Face Shop products, except a few of them and now this jelly is another one. I will advise you not to take it on holiday or travel or keep it in your handbag. It will spill everywhere, trust me on that.
