Wakefit Dual Comfort Mattress & Sleeping Pillow Review | Unboxing

For a healthy lifestyle, having a good night's sleep is really important.  There are several factors that contribute to your sleep including the ambiance of the room, the temperature of the room, mental status, and the most important one is the bed you sleep on, or to be a little specific, the mattress and pillow you sleep on. If the mattress is not good, you will not wake up with a healthy glow on your face but with bags under your eyes and a tired look on your face. When you are unable to get a night of good sleep, your body starts showing the symptoms with feeling tired all day, lack of concentration and slight headache lasting all day long. Henceforth, when it was time to select a mattress for us as a couple, I and my husband wanted to take our time. We spent weeks in search of the right mattress with a pair of the pillow and ended up buying it from Wakefit. Let's get started with the review.

Wakefit Dual Comfort Mattress

This is a dual comfort mattress that is usable on both sides. Medium-firm on the grey side for those who prefer firm support and medium soft on the white side for those who prefer soft comfort. It came vacuum packed in a very thin cardboard box. When you see the box, it seems unbelievable that it contained a 72 inches by 72 inches 6 inches thick mattress. They had several options for sizes and we opted for the King size with 72 inches by 72 inches with 6-inch thickness.

Cost: 8208 we got it for Rs. 6566 (20% off)
Warranty is for 7 years
Trial Period of 100 days

My Experience

The outer fabric seems to be pretty breathable even though it is made with spun polyester with one side grey and other side white.

It took the mattress about 2 hours to fluff up properly so we left it laid out on a bed, before moving in to it's actual location.

The warranty card had a detailed description of unboxing and aftercare so make sure to read it properly before opening it.

What I love the most is that the mattress has an outer layer with zipper, so I suppose you can remove it and clean it if it gets dirty.

We experienced some comfort issues initially for about a week, but after that, we slept nicely on it. The mattress side we opted for was the white one which is the medium soft side. Though it is recommended by the Wakefit expert to us on call that we should flip the mattress every 6 months to maintain its shape.  After 2 months of use, the mattress is still comfortable and relaxing, unlike the pillows.

It is easy to remove the mattress as well in case we want to open the box in the bed so you don't have to worry about it. It is quite lightweight and even one person can slide it to one side for opening the bed box.

What I don't like!

The outer layer of the mattress is quite impressionable. It somehow gets colored from every cotton bedsheet used on it, even the old ones that no longer bleed color.

Wakefit Height Adjustable Sleeping Pillow

Made of 350 GSM Spun polyester fabric with the filing of 200 GSM hollow fiber, these pillows come in vacuum packaging. After opening the package, you have to let it air for about 1 hour for the pillow to regain the shape.

The cost was Rs. 699 and we got it for Rs. 629 due to 20% discount
Warranty is of 6 months

My Experience

On the first look, I really loved the design and packaging of these pillows. They were of optimal size and quite comfortable to touch. The outer fabric is also very breathable and soft to touch.

It had a zipper so that you can take out the excess filling if you want a flatter pillow. Due to the design, it is easy to wash in a washing machine as well.

What I don't like!

Although at first glance these looked quite promising, the pillows were not up to the mark. Both pillows had a difference in thickness so I presume they don't pay attention to the equality of the size among all the pillows. Secondly, after about 2 months of use, the pillows started to become thinner, if you know what I mean. They were not as fluffy or thick as they were before but lost all the volume. I tried to air it out as well but it didn't regain the shape.

Apart from it, the filling slips when you place your head on it. All the filling moves towards one side leaving you with a slightly sunken feeling. I have started to develop pain in my neck due to this and have to change the sides of pillow a couple of times through the night.

    1. I suppose specially designed orthopedic pillows with memory foam can be a good pick. You have to consult the doctor if you have cervical issues for suggestions. This is a good pillow, but not meant for cervical.
