Taking Care Of That Skin During Lock-down

When you are under lock-down for avoiding all kinds of community transmission or personal transmission, it is important to maintain a healthy outlook. With stress and worry, your skin can bear the biggest hit during all this so, I thought of sharing some of my favorite skincare tips that I have been following while in quarantine.

Follow a strict skincare regime

You can create a simple skincare regime when you are in quarantine. No need for anything too rigorous, but whatever you do, make sure to follow it strictly. Clean your skin properly, moisturize it and avoid touching it. Even when you are not going outside, this is really important for your skin. This is crucial for sensitive acne-prone skin.

Never Skip Eye cream

This might seem unnecessary at times but using an eye cream is essential for all of us these days. we spend most of our time in front of screens which puts pressure on our eyes and skin around it. Moreover, by rubbing your eyes you might develop dark circles. So to pretend all this, you must use a good eye cream which is moisturizing and nourishing. Take half a pea-size quantity on your ring fingertip and tap it gently to absorb all the cream around the eye. Start from the cheekbones and go up to the eyebrows, tapping gently. Avoid rubbing your eyes as this might rupture the blood capillaries around causing dark circles. My favorite is Innisfree Jeju Orchid eye cream.

Drink lots of water

I cannot emphasize enough on the importance of drinking water especially during the lockdown. you might use skincare products of lakhs maybe, but it will not provide the glow as much as drinking that water does for your skin.

Do mask it

Masks are the best thing ever when you want to cleanse your skin deeply, nourish it with serums and give it a deep moisturization. My favorite go-to masks are the Beardo Charcoal mask, Innisfree/ TonyMoly/ The Face Shop sheet masks and Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Clay Mask. Charcoal and Clay mask helps in cleansing the skin, removing dirt from the pores and removing that layer of dead skin while the sheet masks provide essences and moisturization in the form of serums needed for glowing skin. You can also use masks to pamper yourself and relax for a bit amidst all this that is happening all around you.

Get Enough Sleep

Although you are not getting late for your office or can sit and watch those shows or Netflix seasons at your heart's content, it does not mean that you have to compromise with the sleep pattern. Follow a healthy sleep pattern and get at least 7-8 hours of sleep in a day. You can try sleeping early and waking up early in the morning in case you have work from home. Make sure to get your beauty sleep.

Let your skin breath

Since you are home, take this time to give your skin a break from all kinds of cosmetics and beauty products and let it breathe. After following your skincare regime, avoid covering it with foundation or BB cream or any other layer of cosmetic which might clog the pores. This will help in rejuvenating your skin and adding a nice glow to it. We all should follow this simple habit of going bare for some days in a month at least and now you have all the opportunity to do so. Makeup can cover the pores of your skin adding a layer that restricts your skin from breathing speeding up the aging factor of the cells.

Work out every day

No matter if you take a walk or dance or some simple exercises to burn those extra calories, working out every day and sweating out can help in adding a glow to your skin. It helps in removing toxins from the body, avoiding adding those extra kilos and enjoying a healthy lifestyle.

These are some tough times and by taking care of ourselves, we shall overcome them with a smile on our face. So, stay inside, stay healthy, maintain social distancing and follow the government's directions for getting over Corona Time!

Lots of Love!!!
XOXO
