Lakme Absolute White Intense Skin Cover Foundation - Ivory Fair | Review

Along with my Innisfree Foundation, I have another favorite of mine and wanted to share about it with you girls. This is Lakme Absolute White Intense Skin Cover Foundation in shade Ivory Fair. I have few acne spots on my cheek which are getting light with time, but I need to cover them while wearing makeup. Although I love Innisfree, due to its high coverage, I feel it is a bit too much for everyday use. And after Pond's simply destroyed my favorite BB cream by changing the formula and converting it into something hideous, I needed something for light coverage.

This is where the Lakme Absolute White Intense Skin Cover foundation comes into play. Let's get started with the review!

According to the Brand

Flaunt your radiant skin with the Lakme Absolute White Intense Skin Cover Foundation. This mild formula is rich in vitamin B3 and it helps you to nourish your skin cells and to keep them purified.

Blends in Easy

While this foundation’s water-based formula spreads evenly and blends in with your skin easily to make it glow, the mousse sets on your face to ensure that all the pores and the fine lines in your skin are concealed, to give your skin a silky-smooth finish.

Long-lasting Effect

The foundation contains SPF 25 and it lasts up to 16 hours, so going out in the sun is not a problem.

Cost
Rs. 750 for 15ml but on several online stores, you can get it for a fairly cheaper price.

Shade

This is shade 01 Ivory Fair. However, there is no mention of shade anywhere on the packaging. I wonder how the seller finds out which shade is inside!

It is also available in Rose Fair and Golden Medium as mentioned on the Lakme website, but I have seen Amazon selling it in Golden Light and Honey Beige shade.

Ingredients

As always, Lakme somehow never bothers to mention ingredients.

Packaging & Texture

The packaging is really great for the Lakme Absolute range. I love it! It is a pump bottle with an outer cap which makes it easy to use and carry if you need it. However, I feel that an additional outer box or packaging is needed and not just the plastic wrap. This foundation bottle contains very little information about the product and it is also missing an ingredients list. The bottle is very opaque so it is also difficult to tell how much product is left inside, you have to make a guess.

The texture is dreamy! It is water-based so the foundation is very light and gentle on the skin feels feather-light. It is blendable, and you can easily work it with your fingertips or beauty blender if you have one. This foundation gives a light to medium coverage but being lightweight, you can also build on it for more coverage. Very smooth finish and looks matte after application. If you have dry skin, I will suggest using ample moisturizer beneath.

My Take

Even though it is a foundation, it feels like a BB cream on my skin and I love it. The best part about this one is that it has yellow undertones. the brand also offers a similar shade with blue undertones. If you have such a complexion, try it. I was happy to get one for very few brands in India that offer a foundation with yellow undertones. The price range for me is pretty decent however, the quantity it has is quite low. I expected a little more. Due to its lightweight formula and light to medium coverage, I use it as an everyday foundation, but the limited quantity makes it last only for a month or less. I need about 2-3 pumps of the foundation for covering my face and neck, so I would have loved it if the quantity was a bit more like at least 30ml if not more.

This foundation spreads easily and is quite blendable so you can build on it for more coverage. I feel that it makes my face glow a little and gives a visibly fairer tone which I love. Unlike other foundations, this one did not oxidize on me and stayed put all day.  I am not sure how it will survive in the Summer season with all the sweating and humidity since I have used it in winter months. I will find out and update it again. I also love that this is a water-based foundation, so all the girls out there worried about their oily and combination skin, this is for you.

It contains SPF and Vitamin B3 which is a win-win for me!

Pros

  • It has yellow undertones
  • The pump makes it easy to use in the right quantity
  • Adds a glow to the face
  • It is water-based and gives a matte finish
  • Light to medium coverage
  • Ideal for everyday use
  • Easily available online as well as offline
  • Easy to carry around
  • Cost is decent
  • Contains SPF
  • Contains Vitamin B3
  • Covers pore significantly
  • Lasts about 8-10 hours, this is the longest I wore it.

Cons

  • It is difficult to tell how much product is left inside due to packaging
  • Very little quantity is given
  • Will not last only a month if you are using it every day
  • No mention of ingredients is a major con for me
  • It lacks outer packaging and very less information is given on the bottle itself.

I am already down to my second bottle of this foundation and it is really nice according to me. However, I feel that they should explore their shade card and provide a little more quantity and shades in the Lakme Absolute White Intense Skin Cover Foundation range.
