The Body Shop British Rose Body Butter & Shower Gel: Review

I am a sucker for fragrant bath and body products, especially when they have a mild natural fragrance. From creams to body washes, I have tried every fragrant product and among all the brands, The Body Shop is one of my favorite ones. Recently I have added another fragrant bath and body addition to my collection, The Body Shop British Rose Body Butter & Shower Gel

Going by it's name, it has calming rose scent which can make your senses feel relaxed and composed every time you take a bath with one. I love how The Body Shop tries to keep all the fragrances soft, soothing and relaxing, maintaining the naturel-ness of it. I have been using The Body Shop Vanilla Body Mist for years now. Soothing, calming vanilla fragrance can make my day any time....

Fragrance

Soothing rose fragrance yet not very strong, which is a good thing!

Packaging

Packaging is rather standard just like other The Body Shop shower gels, a transparent chubby bottle with black flip top. The sturdy flip top makes it easier for you to carry it around with you while traveling. Texture of the shower gel is gel like which is not too runny and has a pinkish tint.

Usage

Lather up using hands or loofah. Rinse thoroughly. A little goes a long way!

Pros

  • It is soap free.
  • Little goes a long way.
  • Doesn't strips of my skin of the essential oils while cleaning it perfectly. Leaves skin smooth and soft.
  • Lathers nicely with a little drop on loofah.
  • Quantity and quality is just right for the price.
  • Fragrance is not very over powering. You can smell the subtle dewy rose fragrance for a couple of hours after the bath.
  • Travel friendly.

Cons

Well, I can't think of any other than price, which may seem a lot to some.

Next in line is The Body Shop British Rose Instant Glow Body Butter Review

  • 24H Moisturisation for your skin

  • Transforms on skin revealing an instant healthy looking glow
  • With the essence of hand-picked British roses
  • Ideal for normal to dry skin

Price: Rs. 1150 for 200ml

But I got it for Rs. 850 after a huge discount!

Fragrance

I just love the subtle dewy rose fragrance it has. Not very overpowering but just enough. If you have tried Dabur Gulabari, it is sort of something like that but not very strong.

Ingredients

Product claims to provide 24 hours moisturisation which it does seem to full fill for at least 12 hours so far. I have normal to dry skin, and needed to apply the body butter twice all throughout the day.

Packaging

Packaging is just like other The Body Shop body butters. Tub packaging is fine with me however, some may find it a bit unhygienic.

Usage

Massage into skin daily and allow to sink in before dressing. It works especially well after a shower with our British Rose Shower Gel.

Texture

Texture is body butter like, smooth and not heavy at all. However, it can be a bit overwhelming for the people with oily skin. I have dry to normal skin so I think I will be using it throughout the year, given the quantity. Body butter is white in color with very fine pinkish glitters milled into it giving the body butter a pinkish tint. You cannot see them directly but against the light they are quite visible.

Try to see the pinkish particles around the x I have marked on the cap.

Shelf life is 12 months

Pros

  •  Texture is very nice and is absorbed well in the skin.
  • Skin feels soft without any oily feel.
  • Moisturisation is long lasting.
  • Fragrance is soothing and subtle.
  • Quantity is quite a lot.

Cons

  • I could not see any instant glow.
  • Price may be a factor for some.
  • Fragrance is not long lasting.
  • Can be a bit oily for people with oily skin
  • Tub packaging is not loved by all.
  • I wish it was available in smaller tubs.

Hope you loved the review. If you have any suggestions or ideas for making the blog better!

Lots of Love!!!
