The Nail Files – Everything You Need To Know About AW19 Nail Art

From Adeam's pearl embellishment to Jeremy Scott's monochrome monogramming.

OTT Embellishment

Seen At: Adeam
In Tokyo the term for ‘extra’ nails, you know, where you embellish and crystallise and glitter ombre, is ‘Gorgeous Nail’. This was definitely the case at Adeam where nail artist Mei Kawajiri used OPI base coats in Judo’nt Say (a shimmery sheer pink) and Chopstix and Stones (bold navy) as a foundation for an explosion of pearl embellishments. Gorgeous nails and a half. Her team spent twelve hours straight creating five hundred nails for the models. This is the top end of the scale.

Monochrome Monogramming

Seen At: Khaite, Jeremy Scott
We’ve also seen monogramming, best practice at Khaite where a single black ‘K’ was painted onto the index finger of the left hand only, and Jeremy Scott where Miss Pop created newsprint nails spelling ‘New York’.

Negative Space Nomad

The look at Prabal Gurung was ‘nomadic traveller’. Translated to nails that meant Aztec-ish. Miss Pop (again) chose three ‘superstars’ to apply Zoya Vanessa (‘Autumns answer to hot pink’) in a negative space diagonal tip.

Maybe the first bit of colour we’ve seen all season. Peak nail art, and it’s only week one.

Let's see what more show up!

Lots of Love!!!
