Faces Canada Ultime Pro Hd Intense Matte Lips + Primer Lipstick | Review & Swatches

As promised, here is another review of my Faces makeup haul. I wanted to try out the Faces Canada Ultime Pro HD Intense Matte Lips + Primer lipstick so I thought it would be better to get this gift box with two lipsticks or lip crayons as I can better define them. The brand has launched several of these lipsticks from Ultime Pro HD intense matte range in duo gift boxes and they are priced at a lower rate as compared to the cost of two lipsticks of this range if you buy them separately. Out of all the options, I got this box containing BloodMoon and Dash of Pink. There are other combinations, you can try them according to your liking. Let's get started with the review.

Cost

The cost of this gift box is Rs. 999 and it contains two full size Faces Canada Ultime Pro Hd Intense Matte Lips + Primer Lipsticks. I find these boxes quite budget-friendly as each lipstick in this range is marked at Rs. 799 if you buy them separately and for 999 you get two. It is a steal deal!

Ingredients

Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Yellow 5 Lake, Red 7 Lake, Isododecane, Diisostearyl Malate, Synthetic Wax, Dimethicone, Caprylyl Methicone, Polybutene, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Dimethylimidazolidinone Rice Starch, Glyceryl Caprylate, Distarch Phosphate, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-DI-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Silica, Isoceteth-10

How to Use

  • Apply starting at the center of your upper lip
  • Work from the center to outer edges of your lips following the contour of your mouth
  • Then glide across the entire bottom lip

Packaging and texture

The gift box has a gorgeous packaging with mirror-like effects in the rose gold shade. It contains two lipsticks from this range. The lipsticks are in auto-retractable packaging with a crayon-like shape. If you love to use lipsticks and products that do not take much space in your handbag or clutch bags, this is the one for you. It looks like a pencil with cap color in the same shade as the lipstick, allowing you to identify your shade.  The texture is pretty smooth, similar to other matte lipsticks from Faces Canada brand. It is creamy and smooth, glides perfectly on the lips.

However, if you want a nice plump look with these lipsticks, I will advise you to use a lip scrub or massage them gently using olive oil or coconut oil mixed with some sugar. It will remove all kinds of dry skin from the lips, giving them a smooth and plump look, perfect for applying matte lipsticks.

Pigmentation is really amazing of these lipsticks and they show up nicely on the lips. I have a dark lip so I always find it difficult to get colors that look exactly like the shade shown on my lips. But this range has turned out perfectly fine for me. Lasting is also decent with 3-4 hours average and then it starts fading slowly.

These lipsticks do not transfer at all, looking perfect only lips for longer hours. However, they are unable to survive food or drinks.

Shade

This pack contains
  • Blood Moon: Blood Moon is a pure red color, which is a perfect red lipstick for Indian skin tones
  • Dash Of Pink: Bring out the chirpy side of you with this shade of bright pink

My Take

Faces Canada produces the best lipsticks. This one too has a nice pigmentation, gorgeously matte finish, color pay off in single and double swipe, however, there is only one thing that is disappointing for me and that is lasting. I expected it to last for more than 3 hours. If you do not fiddle with your lips, avoid drinking and eating anything, it might last for 4 hours, but if you do anything like this, it will start fading out. Thankfully, the color does not vanish instantly, but slowly and consistently without making it look weird on lips.

Pros

  • Highly pigmented color with a gorgeous matte finish
  • Love how it looks on the lips
  • It does give a finish as if the primer is applied on lips
  • Does not settle in creases
  • Fades slowly
  • It does not make lips dry or chapped even with an amazing matte look.
  • Quantity is good
  • The packaging is nice and travel-friendly
  • Love how the color looks on lips
  • Nice color turnout even on dark lips.
  • works great as a gift and budget-friendly if you want to try many shades from this range.
  • It does not transfer.

Cons

  • It starts fading after 2-3 hours, especially when you eat or drink something.
  • Limited shades and combinations available in this gift due range.

Swatches

Here are the swatches!

The top one is the Dash of Pink and the bottom one is the Bloodmoon. Dash of pink is a nice Fuschia pink shade with blue undertones. And the blood moon is a perfect red with nice warm tones.

Aren't these gorgeous! I loved both of them...
