Innisfree Wine Peeling Jelly Softener Review

I have been using face scrubs with particles in them and homemade recipes for exfoliation until someone told me that it is harmful to the skin. Even the top Korean beauty gurus also state the same thing. According to basic Korean beauty and skin care regime, you should not apply anything on the face which might cause friction of any kind. No harmful particles, chemicals or scrubs. After searching for some time, I came across to Innisfree Wine Peeling Jelly Softener. It has Wine extracts and natural cellulose which said to exfoliating the skin without any damage. Let's see if this worked for my skin or not!

How to Use

  • After cleansing, pour appropriate amount onto cotton pad and gently sweep over entire face avoiding the eye and lip area.
  • Rinse off with lukewarm water or refine with toner when dead skin cells start to peel off with natural cellulose.
Although it says to use a cotton pad, I use my fingers to apply it on my skin and to exfoliate it gently by rubbing after 2 minutes of application. In case it dries down, spray a little rose water or dab your face with some water, very little though and start rubbing the skin in clockwise motion gently.

Avoid applying too close to the eye or the lips. It might irritate the sensitive skin over these two regions on your face. Also, avoid applying on blisters or active acne.

Packaging

It comes in a cute dark coloured wine bottle shaped plastic bottle. Due to the design, it is easy to pour liquid from. The liquid is dense plasma serum like so you can easily apply it on your face. The fragrance has hints of Red Wine in it and it is so pleasant to the nose.

Due to the firm cap and design, it is easy to carry in handbag or luggage in case you are stepping out and want to take it along. Quite sturdy built and travel-friendly.

My Take

I have never used peeling jelly exfoliators or softeners for that matter, so I was pretty clueless about what to expect from this one. However, to my surprise, Innisfree Wine peeling jelly softener is just amazing. I apply it after cleaning my face with the foam cleanser. Just a little quantity is enough to cover the entire face and neck.

After leaving it for 2 minutes, I start gently rubbing my skin in clockwise motions. The natural cellulose present in it will form granules clearing out the dead skin and any such particle from the skin. After this, I used warm water to wash off the rest. My skin felt so soft and supple to touch, I cannot describe.

It did not irritate the skin in any way. All the little tiny bumps, dry skin patches around the cheek, chin and nose were cleared. I keep touching my skin now. For some people, the price might be a factor, but it takes about a coin size liquid for entire face so it will last for a very long time.

I apply it once or twice a week, same as my exfoliation regime. I have stopped using the scrubs with granules which caused redness around my face. If you have sensitive skin, I would suggest you go with it.

Pros

  • Very mild on skin yet works great in polishing it
  • Removes tiny bumps and dead skin properly
  • Makes skin feel smooth without drying it or irritating it
  • Just a little is enough one time so the bottle can last for up to 3-4 months
  • Suitable for all kinds of skin
  • Does not contain irritants or harsh chemicals
  • Gentle on skin

Cons

  • Money can be an issue for some, however, it lasts for long.
  • Not easily available, only in Innisfree stores and online.
  • Can irritate active acne or cause rashes if applied near eyes

I will be buying it more until I get something better than this. This really good and has helped in improving the texture of my skin.
