Gold Striped Minimal Nails | DIY

An understated yet glittery striped manicure was starkly juxtaposed with Delpozo‘s structurally, colorfully and texturally dramatic fall collection. Manicurist Julie Kandalec kept the nails clean, matte and neutral and simply painted a vertical gold line along each nail – topped with a glittery, gold coat. Subtle, chic and so easy to recreate.

You’ll need:
metallic gold polish (like Essie Good As Gold)
gold glitter polish (like Essie Rock At The Top)
washi tape or nail striping tape
2 thin paintbrushes
toothpicks

Start by masking off your nails on one hand with two pieces of tape, creating one thin vertical line down the middle of each nail. Rub the edges against the nails to make a proper seal.

I like using a thin paintbrush to control the amount of polish but the bottle brush will do too. Paint in between the tape.

Apply a second coat. Remove the tape.

Dip the toothpick into nail polish remover to clean up the edges of the stripe. Use a thin paintbrush and dip into the gold glitter polish.

Carefully dab the polish over the gold stripe. You’ll want to do this a few times until there’s enough glitter deposited. Use the tip of a toothpick to nudge any stray glitter flecks back onto the stripe. Allow to dry completely before adding a layer of top coat.

And that’s all folks!
