Sugar Cosmetics Beauty Haul

As you all know I love buying and trying new cosmetics, especially lip colors and nail polishes. So, this time I got a batch from Sugar cosmetics. I have tried nail polishes and lip crayons from this brand long back so I wanted to explore other shades. Sugar was first introduced to me by FabBag long back in 2015 I guess. I loved their products, whatever I used until now. They have recently added some new products like foundations, eyeliners, face powders, and translucent powders. I am about to try them about soon, until then, here is my review of this small Sugar Haul!

Cost

The price is Rs. 599 for 7 grams which I find is quite much for loose powder. You need just a little bit!

Ingredients

Talc, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Hexylene Glycol.

How to use

This is as per brand

Make sure the puff is evenly saturated by massaging the powder into it and tapping any excess off. Next, keep the puff folded in half, and press and roll it into the skin—this ensures that you’re not moving your foundation or concealer out of place. Wait for a few seconds and dust off with a brush. Avoid rubbing it against your skin and pay special attention to oily areas of the face.

I prefer to use my powder brush, dab it on the powder gently, dust off any extras, and apply it on the skin gently to avoid removing my foundation.

Packaging and Texture

It comes in a sleek-looking square compact box. The box has a mirror as well as an applicator which allows you to use it on the go for any touch-ups. The size of the translucent powder box is small enough to fit into your makeup pouch. I like that they have included an applicator. The one I got from Palladio didn't have one.  the applicator is soft on the skin and easy to use.

Even the texture of the translucent powder is very finely milled with slight hint of shimmer. It is absorbed into the skin perfectly, giving it a matte look. I have combination skin and this has helped me to keep the oil in check.

My Take

This is a nice product if you want to have smooth matte look for a couple of hours. My combination skin does not produce a lot of oil, but it can get oily in the summer season, especially after I wear creamy foundations. I have used this translucent powder for 3-4 times until now and I can say that it is capable of keeping your skin oil-free for about 3-4 hours. However, if you sweat a lot and have oily skin, you might need to touch up a bit after every 2-3 hours. At this price, I think it is a decent product.

It has a slight scent to it which some might not like. Also, if you have a dusky to dark skin, I will suggest using this product moderately otherwise, you might have a slight white cast or the shade of your foundation may change. Apart from this, there are no cons for me.

Cost

They have mentioned Rs. 899 on the website and selling it for Rs. 799. I don't know why!
Coz the print price on the pack also says Rs. 799. So maybe this is a trick of some sort.

Ingredients

Dimethicone, Diisostearyl Malate, Synthetic Wax, Distarch Phosphate, Polybutene, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Caprylyl Methicone, Dimethylimidazolidinone Rice Starch, Glyceryl Caprylate, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Silica, Isoceteth - 10 May Contain: C.I. Nos. 45410, 15850, 19140.

How to Use

Exfoliate your lips & apply the Crayon Lipstick just the way you would apply any other lipstick. Blot & reapply.

My Take

This is my second lip crayon from Sugar. First was Matte as Hell in Scarlet O'Hara shade, which is still one of my best matte red lip colors. All the Matte as Hell lip crayons by Sugar come with a cute sharpener so I really like this fact. It looks really cute with all-black packaging and that comic kinda prints on it.

The formula of the lip crayon is very smooth. It glides like butter on your lips and has very high pigmentation. I have slightly dark lips, so pigmentated lipsticks are my go-to lip colors. In just a single swipe, you can get the color on your lips. It settles into a smooth velvety kinda finish on your lips and is not at all drying as compared to several other matte lip colors, especially matte liquid lipsticks by Sugar which I hate.

Rose Tyler is a very deep rose shade with blue undertones. I suppose apart from a few colors, most of the lip crayons by Sugar are very dark. I hope they include some more bright colors to their collection.

Back to Rose Tyler, it has a lasting of about 3 hours with meals and drinks. Yes, it transfers very negligibly so you do not need to worry. For me, there are no cons with this one!

Sugar Minis Matte Liquid Lipstick Kit

I got this one as a gift with my purchase. These are smaller versions of their Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipsticks. This is not for sale so no idea about the cost. It comes in a small but cute tin box. Each box contains 4 liquid minis of about 1.1ml each.

Shades I got

10 Drop Dead Red which is sort of rusty red color
08 Wine and Shine which is beautiful sangria purple shade
02 Brink of Pink, it is mentioned as a plum rose shade but I feel it is a more brownish pink combination.
03 Tan Fan which is a mauve nude shade.

These minis are nice to try the lip colors, but I feel these liquid lipsticks are not at all worth it. They dry your lips soon after application. First, the liquid lipstick would feel creamy and smooth, but as it dries down looking matty, you will feel a slight pull on your lips. Sorta like it happens when you apply face packs around or on the lips. There are many brands out there with better matte liquid lipsticks so, I will pass this one.

You might have noticed nail polish here in this haul as well, but I will review them later on in another blog dedicated to just Sugar nail polishes.

Have you tried any of the above or any other Sugar products?

Do tell me about your experience in the comments below!

Lots of Love!!!
