Packaging & Texture

The whole Calendula range by The Face Shop has got an upgrade and hell it got cuter. I really love the retro vibe it has now. The Face Shop essential moisture eye cream comes in a small glass bottle with a golden cap. The glass bottle is very cute in design with a matte finish. The cream is very thick and moisturising. It is slightly milky yellow tinted in colour if you know what I mean. Although thick, it gets absorbed pretty fast adding a layer of moisture around the eye. The fragrance is slightly herbal floral kind.

My Take

Eye cream is very essential in my skincare routine. I was using Innisfree Jeju Pomegranate eye serum until now which was also my very first eye cream or moisturiser before this one. After reading that it also helps in tiredness and I wanted a thicker eye cream so I got my hands on this one. It is really good, very thick and creamy with a smooth consistency. The fragrance doesn't bother me at all as well. I take about a pea size for both of eye and apply it first in dabbing motion and gently tap my fingers around the eye area to absorb it well. The cream is absorbed into the skin perfectly and keeps the skin around eye moisturised for hours. I have to work on the laptop for long hours due to my job and blogging so this helps in reducing the puffiness and tiredness. This is a good eye cream for starting out.

Pros

  • Very thick and moisturising
  • Helps in the soothing eye, reducing puffiness
  • Contains natural extracts
  • Easy to use and carry
  • Lightweight and non-greasy
  • Gives a plumping effect

Cons

  • Glass bottle might break if dropped.
  • People might find glass packaging unhygienic
  • A bit expensive for an eye cream
  • Not so easily available offline.
  • Fragrance can be an issue for some.

If you want to start off with a good eye cream that gives results, this is a good option for you. It contains natural ingredients and helps in reducing puffiness to a certain level.
