5 Easy Snapchat Filter Halloween Makeup: DIY

It is an undeniable fact that Snapchat filters are the absolute best part of the social story sharing app. And as far as Halloween costumes go, they make for a super easy DIY. The costume itself can be anything you'd wear while Snapping (aka literally anything) but the makeup and accessories are what will really put the finishing touch on your getup.

While there are loads of constantly changing filters to choose from, all of which would make for an excellent costume, you're most likely to impress at your Halloween parties if you pick one of the most popular ones. That being said, while the dog is cute and a perfectly decent option for Oct. 31 (and arguably perfect as a best friends costume), it's also the one that puts you at the most risk for being dressed the same as someone else. While there's nothing wrong with a set of matching getups, the bee, golden butterflies, deer, rainbow puke, and flower crown are slightly more unexpected.

So, if you're ready to get your topical costume on, follow along with celebrity makeup artist and head of the MAKE UP FOR EVER Academy Jackie Gomez's step by step instructions for getting the dreamiest Snapchat looks to rock on Halloween.

The Bumble Bee

1. Yellow your eyes.

After applying your usual base makeup, use an opaque yellow shadow like Make Up For Ever's Artist Shadow #M408 in the inner corner of the eye, below your lower lash line, and up over your lids and brows. Go over the powder base with a cream shadow, like Make Up For Ever Flash Color Pot in Yellow.

2. Add some liner.

Apply a white liner on your bottom waterline, then wing a black pencil liner out beneath that. Add some dramatic false lashes (Corinne is wearing Make Up For Ever Lash Show #C-701) to open up your eyes even more.

3. Apply mascara.

Apply a black mascara on your top lashes to blend them into the falsies. Use a clean mascara brush to comb a white pigment like Make Up For Ever Flash Color Pot.

4. Add the cheeks.

Use a hot pink shadow on your temples and cheeks, then apply blush underneath your eyelids and on the center of your bottom lid.

To create the beelike stripes, draw thick lines with your yellow cream pigment , underlining with a thinner stripe using black pigment.

5. Finish with the lips.

Tie the whole look together with a pinkish nude lip, like Make Up For Ever Flash Color in Coral. Pin some black pipe cleaners into your hair for the antennas!

The Baby Deer

1. Start your base.

Apply your foundation as usual, then go heavy on the contour. Use a stick foundation, like Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Stick Foundation, in a few shades darker than your natural skin tone to define your cheekbones. Add a highlighter on your cheeks, center of your forehead, and inner corner of the eyes.

Fill in your brows with a creamy brow pencil like Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Brow. Use a white eye liner on your bottom lashline and define your upper eyelid crease with a dark brown eye shadow.

2. Create your cat eye.

Create a double cat eye using a cream shadow like Make Up For Ever Aqua Black. Draw one line right at your upper lashline, then add another just about your crease.

3. Do your lashes.

Turn the doe eyed look up a notch by apply some false lashes. Then, apply a black mascara, like Make Up For Ever Excessive Lash Mascara, on your top and bottom lashes.

4. Get colorful.

Apply an orange shadow to the center of your forehead, T zone, and temples. Add some blush to the apples of your cheeks.

5. Add your dots.

Use a white cream pigment to create dots on your forehead using a small brush. Apply the same shade to the bottom of your nose and the upper mouth area. Buff the colors out with a makeup sponge.

6. Apply the finishing touches.

Apply a black cream pigment to the tip of your nose. Finish the look with a pale pink lipstick, like Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge #M200.

The Flower Crown

1. Get glowing.

The key to this look is to get extra dewy, so you'll want to use lightweight, glow-inducing products. Prime your skin with a hydrating primer, like Make Up For Ever's Skin Equalizer Hydrating Primer. Then apply a super lightweight foundation, like Make Up For Ever Water Blend Foundation, with a wet sponge or beautyblender.

2. Contour.

Use a stick foundation in two shades lighter than your skin underneath your eyes, on your T zone, and to highlight. Use a stick foundation two shades darker to contour, then set with powder.

3. Add the eyes.

Use a light brown shadow on the center of the eyelid going up toward the crease and on your lower brow bone. Apply some false lashes, then mascara. Add some blush to the apple of your cheeks.

4. Do your lips.

Rather than a lip gloss or stick, use highlighter like Make Up For Ever Pro Light Fusion for a glowy effect on your lips.

5. Add some dew and a flower crown.

Spritz a moisturizing setting spray all over to keep your makeup in place and add even more glow. For this flower crown, we used a hot glue gun to attach fake flowers to a piece of thin wire, then wrapped it around Dawn's head — but you can use the crown creating method of your choice.

The Rainbow Puke

1. Create that wide eyed look.

After applying your usual foundation base, add a thick line of white liner at your lower waterline and over lower lashes. Apply black mascara to your upper lashes.

2. Add some dramatic falsies.

Now that you've vanished your natural lower lashes, add a strip of falsies (Corinne is wearing Make Up For Ever Lash Show #N503) right below.

3. Add rosy cheeks.

Apply a bright pink eye shadow to the apples of your cheeks to create a super rosy look.

4. Create your rainbow.

Use a white eyeliner to draw a guide for where your rainbow lines will be on your chin and down your neck. You'll need a total of six spaces to fill in.

5. Add your colorful puke and pretty sparkles.

Use colorful face paint (like Make Up For Ever Flash Color Case) to fill in your rainbow, starting from the outer colors and working your way in. Draw crosses using white cream pigment to create the sparkles, then over draw your upper lip with a coral lipstick.

Golden Butterfly Crown

1. Create the filter effect.

This filter gives you an ultra bronzed look, so after applying your usual foundation you'll want to contour, then apply bronzer all over. Use a highlighter on your cheek bones, center of your nose, and on your eyelids.

2. Add some eye makeup.

Line the outer rim of your eyes with a brown liner, keeping it very close to your lashes. Diffuse the color with a blending brush, like Make Up For Ever #218. Highlight your lower brow bone and inner corner of the eye.

3. Apply falsies.

Add thick falsies that have longer lashes at the corners, then coat your top and bottom lashes with mascara.

4. Color your lips.

Line your lips with a beige lip pencil. Create a super shiny lip by mixing a beige lip gloss like Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi Gloss #101 and a loose glitter powder.

5. Add your sparkle.

Layer a shimmery gold body lotion and loose glitter all over any skin that's showing in your costume, focusing on your décolletage.

6. Place your butterflies.

Super glue a mix of yellow and gold craft butterflies to bobby pins, then apply them in a crown formation on into your hairline.

Oh, and don't forget to document your entire Halloween on Snapchat.

Enjoy Halloween!!

Lots of Love!!!

XOXO
