How to add menswear to your look without looking manly

I love to wear clothes of my bf. His polo t-shirts fit me the best and he loves to see me in them as well. I bet most of you also prefer to wear jeans, t-shirts and shirts of your sweethearts. How about transforming them into a fascinating trend using some style tips and some accessories from your closet. Read on for boyfriend style but for you!

This spring I've been obsessed with powder pink, so I was instantly drawn to these gorgeous
oxfords from Johnston and Murphy. When they arrived though, I was having a little trouble styling them since they're a little more "menswear" than the rest of my style. I feel like menswear pieces tend to look a little more mature than my usual look.

But of course I'm always up for the challenge, so I created two outfits today to show you how to add menswear to your look while still creating a feminine and youthful outfit!

1. Choose menswear pieces that are still feminine.

Pink oxfords, striped blazers, embellished button ups -- they're all menswear pieces that are still feminine. Choose pieces like this to make it easier to pair with a feminine outfit!

2. Add a little fun to your menswear outfit.

To keep it from looking stuffy or too mature for your age, try throwing in some distressing in your denim, or a fringe bag. Both are youthful and playful, and will keep your outfit fun and interesting. Another good way to add youth to your look is with jewelry. A stack of bracelets, a statement necklace, or a bright bag keep your outfit age appropriate.

3. Keep the rest of your outfit feminine.

I paired my oxfords and blazer with a bright pink bag and an eyelet blouse, both of which are pretty and feminine. This keeps the blazer and oxfords from pulling your outfit more toward the masculine side. Or add a pair of heels to the button up look -- a pair of flats will definitely look more masculine.

Think you can incorporate the menswear trend into your wardrobe? Those pink oxfords are calling your name!

Lots of Love!!!
XOXO
